Emiliana Torrini: SOUND THE ALARM FOR CLIMATE: MAKE SOME NOISE

SOUND THE ALARM FOR CLIMATE: MAKE SOME NOISE
The incredibly passionate folks at AVAAZ (who've had unprecedented success calling their 3.5 million members to action on vital environmental and human rights issues) have explained to us that the 'Global Summit on Climate Change' this December in Copenhagen is our LAST CHANCE to persuade Governments to agree to any significant policies which will do anything to help the impending Climate Change catastrophe. This is the 'Last Call For Climate Change'.

To show leaders that citizens care, they are organizing a 'Global Wake Up Call for Climate' on September 21st (less than 2 weeks from now). What they've come up with is a massive 'SOUND THE ALARM FOR CLIMATE: MAKE SOME NOISE' action. They want to incite the public to some minor civil disobedience by setting up your speakers in your windows, pointing them out into the street, and playing your favourite music as loud as you dare to make the alarm call to leaders unmissable.

All over the world people will play music and take to the streets on the same day and at the same symbolic time of 18:12 (which is the date that the climate treaty will be signed). It's a easy and fun action that everyone can do and it will make the number of people who care about climate felt sonically throughout the world. You'll also be able to click on an online map, tell the world what you are playing and send photos, videos or sound files of your action, and to make extra sure that the message is heard, they will provide you with the telephone numbers of Heads of State around the world so that you can dial the number, blast your favourite track and leave a message: "this is your climate wake up call".
